Master Gardener Presentation: Native & Well-adapted Plants

  • Featured ItemYes

The first step to successful gardening in Central Texas is to choose the right plants. The next phase is to combine them in ways that they thrive with each other to present a pleasing palate in your garden space year-round. Participants will come away with a list of different ornamental groupings suitable for five different garden situations. Garden size, light, water and soil will be taken into consideration.

Kirk Walden is a hands-on experiential gardener. While he appreciates the cerebral aspects of gardening, he revels in the visceral experience of digging in the dirt. When he moved to Austin in 1998, the home had virtually no landscaping, mostly just limestone and cedars. His determination to beautify it led to an avocation as a serious gardener that culminated in Travis County Master Gardener Certification in 2014.

Refreshments will be provided while supplies last. This presentation is for those 18 and up only.
