Holiday Event Guide

Enjoy these holiday themed events from the Pflugerville Public Library in December. Save this guide, or RSVP to the events on the Pflugerville Library Facebook page to share with your friends and family.

Heritage House: Christmas Open House – Saturday, December 2 and Sunday, December 3, 1 – 4 p.m.
Tour the Heritage House Museum holiday figurine displays and take a picture with Santa. There will also be door prizes and a boutique. Come to the house on December 3 for a performance by a PfISD choir. All ages are welcome. The museum is located on 901 Old Austin Hutto Rd.

Sing Along Holiday Favorites – Tuesday, December 5 at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.
Families are invited to sing holiday favorites with local musician Slider Lee. Stay after the show and make a holiday craft. All ages are welcome.

Dickens Day Celebration – Tuesday, December 5 at 6 p.m.
Bah! Humbug! Master storyteller Gary Whitaker will bring the words of Charles Dickens to life in a retelling of the classic tale, A Christmas Carol. Enjoy hot cocoa, cookies and a craft before the story begins at 6:30 p.m. All ages are welcome.

Kawaii Club: Character Ornaments – Wednesday, December 6 at 4:30 p.m.
Kids ages 9 - 14 will make a Pusheen or other kawaii (cute) character ornament with fuse breads.

Batman Holiday Family Knight – Thursday, December 7, 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Bring the family for an evening of classic holiday episodes of Batman: The Animated Series (©Warner Bros., Rated Y7). Enjoy cookies and make fuse bead ornaments during the episodes. Ages 5 and up are welcome.

Afternoon with Santa – Saturday, December 9, 2 – 4 p.m.
Bring your own camera and take pictures of your family with Santa. Work on holiday crafts while you wait. All ages are welcome.

Senior Crafternoon: Soap Making – Monday, December 11 at 2 p.m.
Who doesn’t love a homemade gift? Learn simple soap making techniques and make a bar of soap. This program is intended for those 55 and up, but anyone 18 and up is welcome. Supplies will be given to seniors first.

Tween Holiday Hangout – Wednesday, December 13 at 6:30 p.m.
Tweens ages 8 - 12 will have hot cocoa, snacks and make a craft while watching the 1966 classic Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas. (©Warner Bros)

Adult Craft Night: Felt Ornaments – Thursday, December 16 at 6 p.m.
Learn how to sew and make an adorable stuffed felt ornament. Anyone 18 and up is welcome.

Senior Holiday Bash, featuring Slider Lee – Monday, December 18 at 1 p.m.
Enjoy refreshments and make a holiday ornament while listening to tunes from local singer and guitarist, Slider Lee. This event is intended for those 55 and up, but anyone 18 and up is welcome.

Tween Scene – Wednesday, December 20 at 4:30 p.m.
Ward off the chill with a cozy D.I.Y. project. Ages 8 -12 are invited to make D.I.Y. flannel pocket hand-warmers.

Kids Crafternoon – Thursdays at 3:30 p.m.
Come to Kids Crafternoon for a holiday themed craft every week. Children 5 to 8 with a parent or caregiver are welcome. We are making holiday cheer buttons on December 7, crinkle tissue wreaths on December 14 and reindeer tree ornaments on December 21.

All library programs are free. Materials for craft programs are provided while supplies last. Refreshments, if offered, are available while supplies last. The library is located on 1008 W. Pfluger St.
