Summer Reading Program starts June 9

Post Date:06/02/2018
Spend your summer at the library! Enjoy special events, guest speakers, performances and after-hour parties. There is something for all ages to enjoy, visit the library calendar or follow the library on Facebook for more information. The library will also host a friendly reading competition from June 9 - July 20.

Pick up a reading log starting Saturday, June 9. The color of your reading log is your team for the summer. Add a token to your team's bucket for every two hours that you read. Reading logs will be due July 20. Last year, our library patrons logged a total of 6,866 hours read over the summer! The Blue Team won the 2017 competition with 1,770 hours read. Kids, teens and adults are welcome to participate. There are no prizes for the reading competition, but there will be surprise giveaways throughout the summer.

Celebrate the end of this year's Summer Reading Program on Saturday, July 28 with 'Pay It Forward Pflugerville'. Attendees will be able to take part in charitable activities to help spread kindness in the local community. Details for the end of the Summer Reading Program party are still developing, so make sure you follow the library on social media for updates. The library can be found on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and Snapchat (Pflibrary).

The Pflugerville Public Library is located on 1008 W. Pfluger St. For questions about the Summer Reading Program, please call 512-990-6375.
