Parents and caregivers, you are invited to attend a free workshop at the library to learn how you can develop and support your child's literacy skills and encourage a love of reading. The workshop is divided into two sessions based on grade level, but you are welcome to attend both.
Children of any age may attend with parents. Library staff will monitor potty-trained children age 3 and older in an adjacent room with a variety of toys and books.
Registration is optional, but encouraged to help us estimate how many handouts to prepare. Visit http://www.libraryinsight.com/calendar.asp?jx=tt to register.
6:00-6:45 - Session 1: Early Literacy Skills for Children from Preschool through 1st Grade

7:00-7:45 - Session 2: Supporting Your Independent Reader from 2nd through 5th grade.
At this session, you will learn how to navigate the Pflugerville ISD website to find valuable information, the importance of continuing to read aloud to your children even as they become independent readers, and how to help your child find the "right" books.
