Fiction Writing Class Series starts July 18

Learn how to write fiction with writer and teacher Tracey Lander-Garrett in a four-part series at the library. Tracey will teach attendees about the various aspects of fiction writing. This is an interactive class where participants will get to work on writing exercises. This class will take place on the last two Wednesdays in July and August, 6 - 8 p.m. Anyone 18 and up are welcome to attend.

July 18: Part I. First Things First: Who, Where, & When
-Character, Setting, Naming Your Nouns

July 25: Part II. Structure: The Ups & Downs of Storytelling
-Plotting, Pacing, Beginnings, Middles, & Ends

August 22: Part III. Narrative Choices: The Good, Bad, & Ugly
-POV & Tense, First lines, Last lines (chapter or story endings)

August 29: Part IV. Other Essentials: Keeping the Reader’s Attention
-Dialogue, Suspending Disbelief, Description & Literary Devices
